A member of our Project Management team shared Picnik with me a few months back, and I’m still amazed more people aren’t aware of it.  It’s hands down the best novice photo editing application out there (on or offline).  Its intuitive Flash based interface is incredibly fast, and allows you to easily do all the basics like crop, rotate, remove red eye, and resize photos all in real time.  What separates Picnik from other similar applications, however, is the ease with which you can apply some more “artsy” special effects.  Simple to play around with saturation, contrast, temperature, sharpness, exposure, etc.  All things that you really don’t understand as a regular Joe with a digital camera, but fun to mess around with.  Anyway, since most Mimeo users are the actual creators of the documents they print, I figured Picnik may come in handy if you ever needed to quickly edit a photo or graphic for a presentation.  And for those of you that don’t have any work-related photo editing needs, Picnik integrates with flickr, picasa, facebook, photobucket and others so it’s easy to pull in and edit personal photos as well.  Enjoy, and let us know what you think.
