A recent article by John Reeve in Digital Web Magazine outlines what it truly means to be a green business. The article provides an excellent collection of links to sustainability resources. John outlines three requirements for any initiative:
* Environmental Sustainability: improving one’s environmental footprint;
* Social Sustainability: improving the community in which you work and sell your product; and
* Organizational Sustainability: achieving the right work-life balance for employees and shareholders
An important part of the Mimeo brand is the desire to exceed all industry benchmarks regarding quality and value. Part of the promise of value in today’s marketplace is to have a well defined policy and initiatives on sustainability. In our business that includes making improvements in our core process that reduce our carbon footprint and the expansion of offerings that have improve the sustainability of the materials we use such as recycled paper.
The bottom line as pointed out by John is that if you examine every business process in the organization, you can identify areas for improvement.
